Cleaning Up the Waterways Program

Our Cleaning Up the Waterways Program is dedicated to protecting our marine environment while creating meaningful employment opportunities for individuals facing barriers to mainstream work. This initiative includes volunteer community days and structured clean-up days with our team to remove marine debris from our coastline. We target items washed in from storm surges, severe weather events, or simply left behind, ensuring our environment is cared for sustainably.

As part of our commitment to inclusion, we employ individuals with disabilities or mental health challenges to actively engage in the program, providing them with meaningful work and a sense of purpose. We educate our participants with our on-staff Environmental Scientist on ways to sustainably care for our environment. Through this initiative, we have successfully removed over 70 tonnes of marine debris in the past three years.

Back2Work Recycle Program

Our Back2Work Recycle Program is a recycling initiative that not only helps the environment but also provides employment opportunities for people with disabilities or mental health challenges. We collect 10c cans and bottles from local caravan parks, restaurants, and residences, giving these recyclables a second life while funding our community programs.

We have proudly partnered with Containers for Change / Return-It in Caloundra to process our collected cans and bottles—so if you see us there, be sure to say hello! The funds raised directly support our participants, giving them valuable work experience and financial independence. Any remaining funds are reinvested into our Cleaning Up the Waterways Program to purchase essential supplies such as gloves, claw grabbers, and equipment to continue our environmental conservation efforts.

Want to support us? Let us know if you would like us to provide a bin at your house, workplace or unit complex to donate your recyclables.

All Abilities Accessible Boat Open Day

Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, we host regular Open Days where members of the public can book a 30-minute cruise along the Mooloolaba Canals aboard our All Abilities Accessible Boat.

This 9.5-metre Rebel Boat is powered by Yamaha motors (we are proud Yamaha Ambassadors) and is designed with spacious access for various mobility needs, ensuring that everyone—regardless of ability—can experience the beauty of our waterways.

Sponsors such as 99 Bikes and Maroochy RSL continue to make these Open Days possible, allowing us to provide this experience to the community free of charge.
